Texas Hold’em Rifle League

Course of fire

The league will consist of 4 rounds, 17 shots per round, (68) shots for the league.

  1. 200 yards 4 white steel plates
  2. 250 yards 4 white steel plates
  3. 300 yards 4 white steel plates
  4. 250-275 yards variable range pop can
  5. 200 yards 1 red steel plate
  6. 250 yards 1 red steel plate
  7. 300 yards 1 red steel plate
  8. 300 yards paper target
  9. Allowed 1 shot per steel, can or paper target. Red targets are last 3 shots and can be shot in any order

League begins Saturday, June 8th and ends Sunday, July 14th. Shooting begins 12:00 Noon and ends 3:00 PM. Any competitor needing special time must contact the League Captain and Range Supervisor, Brad Kostka, at 715-532-8204 to make the arrangement. The cost will be $25 per shooter plus your shooting fee if you have not paid it yet.

Safety

All basic range safety rules must be followed at all times. Action open until ready to fire, barrel pointed in safe direction never sweeping the line of fire, no handling or adjusting guns when someone is down range and listen to the range officer at all times. Please use inductive reasoning at all times.

Rules

  • You will have up to 17 minutes to shoot 17 shots for one score.
  • All 17 shots will be shot seated at the bench only, no other shooting position allowed.
  • Use any aid to stable your aim. Use of sand bags, bi-pods, tri-pods, lead sled or even a rock if that’s what will work for you.
  • You can set your shooting aids up on the bench along with your ammunition but your rifle must remain in the gun rack with the action open until the shoot begins.
  • Use any of your favorite rifles. Caliber, weight, action type, no restrictions on your rifle! You must use the same rifle throughout the 17 shot round.You can use a different rifle for each round.
  • If a gun malfunction occurs it will be to the discretion of the league captain or range supervisor if there will be a make-up at the end of the shoot.
  • Please bring reliable guns and ammunition.
  • Spotting scopes and/or range finders can be used.
  • No coaching or spotters.

Scoring

  • 200 yards 4 white plates 5 points each total 20 points.
  • 250 yards 4 white plates 5 points each total 20 points.
  • 300 yards 4 white plates 5 points each total 20 points.
  • 250-275 yards 1 pop can total 15 points.
  • 200 yards 1 red plate total 10 points.
  • 250 yards 1 red plate total 15 points.
  • 300 yards 1 red plate total 25 points.
  • 300 Yards paper must be inside rings to be scored, red center is 15 points.
  • Total points possible for each round is 140.
  • Total points possible for the league is 560.
  • Steel silhouette targets will be scored a hit if target is tipped over by a bullet strike determined by a visible paint chip on target surface not on any portion of the stand.
  • On the paper target, any part of the hole made by the bullet even a tear in the paper that cuts the line will be scored to the next higher point.
  • Ties will be broken by 3 round MOA group on paper at 300 yards.
  • Class A and B is determined by one half split of the competitors. Odd number of shooters in any league will result in cut off for class A at the upper even number nearest to center of list. Example: 17 shooters bottom of class A is number 8 in standings.
  • All decisions are final by the league captain or range supervisor.
  • League score can be shot any time between June 24t and July 30th as long as the league captain or range supervisor is present.
